My professors in college couldn't even begin to see what the future of the communications field would bring. No longer can a business use only traditional advertising, but instead must adapt to an environment where every customer has the ability to easily reach hundreds (and possibly millions) of other potential customers and clients.
Marketing must be based on an exchange-based plan where businesses not only communicate with potential customers and clients, but also listen AND respond to those same clients.
When one person's voice is so powerful, businesses can't afford to ignore them.
Traditional advertising and traditional marketers are no longer enough to sustain a business, no matter how good that business is. Today's marketer must be up to date on the current trends and technology. Experience is always an advantage, but means nothing if you cannot leverage that experience to work with today's business needs.
And today's business needs will be different tomorrow. Are you ready?
